Sonos Ace headphones drop to $279 across major retailers

Active noise cancellation headphones, a category where built-in microphones detect ambient sound and cancel it out before it reaches your ears, just got noticeably cheaper.

The Sonos Ace, the company's first wireless headphones, are now $279 at Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, and directly from Sonos, down from $399. The discount applies to the black version only.

The white version remains at full price. The Sonos Ace carry a balanced sound profile, lighter on bass than competitors like the Sony WH-1000XM5.

The build is comfortable, and the soundstage, the sense of width and separation in the audio, is expansive.
