The Department of Justice confirmed the raid in a statement to CNBC. The agency said that Homeland Security Investigations executed a judicially authorized search warrant secured by the Department of Justice.
The statement described the action as part of an ongoing federal investigation. Omar, a Democrat from Minnesota, was born in Somalia and brought to the United States as a child. citizen in 2000 at the age of 17.
