Gulf states are absorbing attacks from two directions. Iran has been escalating strikes directly against them. Iran-aligned Houthi militants have been adding their own pressure on top of that.
The states bearing that combined burden are the same ones Trump is expected to sit with at the UN. What the meeting is aimed at, in plain terms, is settling the terms and sequence of how the conflict concludes.
