President Donald Trump declared on Thursday that anyone using the term "Artificial Intelligence" rather than "Super Intelligence" is "THE ENEMY!" despite the White House continuing to use the standard industry term across its official platforms.
This public stance conflicts with the established terminology used by the technology sector and the federal government's own digital infrastructure.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote that the White House considers individuals who use "Artificial Intelligence" to be enemies, favoring what he described as the "highly accepted new and more accurate term," "Super Intelligence." The push to rebrand the field blurs the technical distinction between current artificial intelligence systems and super intelligence, which is a hypothetical version of AI more advanced than human intelligence.
The directive aligns with a September executive order that emphasized the use of "SI" over "AI." That order did not specify penalties for using the older term but called on federal agencies to update their official communications.
