The actual ratings data had not been released when Trump posted, so the comparison was unverifiable. The Patriots-Seahawks matchup was the first NFL game of the season on a Thursday night.
Drake Maye had a difficult fourth quarter, and AJ Brown left the game with an injury. Sam Darnold entered and played only five snaps before sitting out the rest of the night.
It was not the kind of debut the league tends to prefer. Trump said the Dallas arena beat its own attendance records and that thousands of people who could not get inside watched on outdoor screens.
