Stocks mostly declined on Thursday, led by losses in artificial intelligence-related companies after OpenAI disclosed that its annualized revenue was lower than figures previously reported.
The company stated that its annualized revenue reached $50 billion at the end of September, a figure below the $68 billion reported in late October.
This downward revision weighed on tech-heavy indices, with the Nasdaq Composite falling 1.25% and the S&P 500 dropping 0.47%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average bucked the trend, gaining 0.10%.
Market pressure was also driven by signals from the Federal Reserve regarding future interest rate policy.
