America's most popular professional sports league has locked in its top executive for another four seasons.
The NFL announced that Roger Goodell will remain commissioner through the 2030 season, with his deal expiring March 31, 2031.
More than 95 percent of his pay is performance-based compensation, meaning he collects the bulk of his salary only if he and the league hit specific targets set by the owners.
The league's Compensation Committee, a group of six owners who negotiate and oversee the commissioner's pay, notified the remaining 31 owners of the agreement in a memo from Chairman Robert Kraft, owner of the New England Patriots.
