Why the Primary Result Stings The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee — the party's official House campaign arm — had endorsed Baldacci by adding him to its "Red to Blue" program, a designation reserved for candidates the DCCC considers viable in competitive districts and wants to support with money and infrastructure.
The committee spent $7,500 on a joint ad buy with Baldacci before the vote.
