The gain snaps seven consecutive quarters of margin compression and arrives alongside a quarter-over-quarter uptick in flipping activity — two signals pointing in the same direction for the first time in nearly two years.

What "Home-Flipping Return" Means A home-flipping return measures the gross profit on a resale relative to the original acquisition price — in this case, the typical spread a flipper captured between purchase and sale in the quarter.

At 25.4 percent, the figure represents the margin before carrying costs, renovation outlays, transaction fees, and taxes, so net returns to individual investors will be lower.
