Galaxy Digital shares sink nearly 12% as crypto losses overshadow its first AI revenue quarter

Falling digital asset prices handed Galaxy Digital (GLXY) an $85 million net loss for the second quarter of 2026, and the stock responded on August 5 with an 11.92% drop to $19.50.

Net loss is the amount by which a company's total costs exceed its total revenue in a given period.

For a firm carrying roughly $1.82 billion in digital assets on its books, a broad token selloff moves straight through to the income statement.

What the quarter actually showed Adjusted EBITDA, a metric that strips out interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization to approximate operating performance, came in at a loss of $77 million.
