Vaccination guidance for the coming winter respiratory season is now available for both medical professionals and their patients.
The short version: a coalition of professional organizations representing pediatricians, family physicians, obstetricians, and other medical professionals released joint recommendations Wednesday covering influenza, Covid-19, and RSV, or respiratory syncytial virus.
The guidelines emerged from a combined effort with the University of Minnesota's Vaccine Integrity Project. The guidance carries two stated goals.
One is to give medical professionals a clearer basis for advising patients on which vaccines apply to them. The other is to help individuals plan which vaccinations to schedule before the season begins.
