Debi Mazar says Entourage set grew toxic after she returned from having her second daughter

When a workplace turns hostile based on how someone looks rather than how they perform, the entertainment industry tends to call that "toxic," a term meaning a culture of judgment that a worker cannot escape by simply doing the job well.

Debi Mazar, the actress who played hard-nosed publicist Shauna Roberts across all eight seasons of HBO's Entourage, told The Sunday Times the show's set crossed that line before its run ended.

The series, which followed a rising actor and his childhood friends navigating Hollywood, aired from 2004 to 2011. Mazar described the first season as a "joy-fest." By the third, the atmosphere had shifted.

"It was a testosterone-fueled environment," she told the outlet, and said it "got toxic towards the end" for her. She said the trouble sharpened after she returned to work following the birth of her second daughter.
