Jamal Wallace, a senior defensive lineman for the University of Utah football team, has been placed on indefinite suspension following accusations of rape and the sharing of incident videos on social media. Utah officials confirmed the suspension after becoming aware of the situation on Oct. 11, stating that they take such matters seriously but offer no further comment as it is a pending legal matter.

Wallace was arrested earlier this month on charges that include five misdemeanors. Multiple outlets report that the alleged victim described an on-and-off relationship with Wallace, claiming that on Oct. 9, he forced her to perform oral sex and have intercourse while they discussed their relationship. She also alleged that Wallace physically assaulted her during the incident, though Wallace has denied assaulting the alleged victim.

Salt Lake City police stated they found videos of the incident on Wallace's phone. The woman claimed these videos were sent to five people via Snapchat. Wallace was released on $5,000 bail. Before transferring from Tennessee, Wallace appeared in six games for the Vols last year and has played in one game this season.
