The Shelly Presence Gen4 is a new smart home sensor that uses mmWave radar to track up to 10 people in a space without recording video. The device is available for purchase starting today for $84.99.

Following the launch of a $50 subscription-free security camera last month, Shelly introduced this new tool for smart home automation. The Presence Gen4 uses mmWave radar technology to detect the presence, motions, and activities of people and pets. This approach allows the sensor to keep track of individuals as they move through rooms or large spaces without recording video.

The sensor is currently sold through Shelly's online store. The company expects the product to reach other retailers, including Amazon and Best Buy, soon. Users can position the device on a shelf or table using its built-in stand or mount it permanently.
