Selma Blair's on-again, off-again boyfriend Andy Kiernan asked social media followers to "pray for Selma" following her arrest and subsequent assault charges stemming from an incident aboard a Delta Air Lines flight. Kiernan shared the message in an Instagram story on Monday, stating that the actress "has a good heart" and "hasn't yet got the help she needs." He also urged followers to pray for Blair's 15-year-old son, Arthur Saint Bleick.

Blair, 54, was arraigned in Queens on Monday on two counts of second-degree assault. The charges stem from alleged attacks on a Port Authority police officer and a nurse after her arrival at John F. Kennedy International Airport from Los Angeles. Judge Indira Khan set bail at $20,000 cash, $60,000 bond, and a $60,000 partially secured bond. Blair is expected in court again in January 2027.

Police responded to a call regarding a "physically abusive passenger" aboard Delta Flight 938. An affidavit states that Officer Maria Suarez was assisting with securing Blair on a stretcher around 11:50 p.m. ET when the actress allegedly kicked the officer multiple times in the face, neck, and chest after freeing her leg from the straps. Suarez reported jaw swelling and significant pain to her upper body, leading to treatment at a Queens-area hospital. Blair is also accused of kicking a nurse in the chest at that facility.

During her court appearance, Blair's attorney Shawn Barnes told The New York Post that the actress missed multiple doses of a "powerful" medication that controls severe neurological symptoms. Barnes argued that this was not an intentional assault, citing extensive work hours leading up to the flight and an incident where Blair fell and hit her head during the flight. He stated that these factors, combined with altitude, resulted in severe confusion and disorientation.

Delta confirmed that law enforcement responded to the incident upon arrival at JFK. The airline stated it has "zero tolerance for unruly or unlawful behavior" and that the safety of customers and crew comes first. Sources told TMZ that Blair allegedly punched one flight attendant and bit another during the flight. Two flight attendants reported injuries, with one taken to a hospital. CBS reported that Blair was traveling with a service dog, which is now in the custody of her attorney.

Law enforcement officials confirmed that Blair was separately served with a summons by the FBI and is currently facing one additional charge of assault. A representative for Blair told Fox News Digital that she experienced a medical emergency leading to the alleged conduct and is currently in stable condition. Kiernan and Blair's representatives did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
