OpenAI and Google have reached an agreement that will bring OpenAI's frontier models to Google Cloud services and the Antigravity coding tool. This development expands the range of artificial intelligence options available on Google's platform beyond its own Gemini models.
For enterprise customers and AI enthusiasts, OpenAI's latest model is expected to appear in Google's Model Garden within the coming weeks. This addition will expand the library's existing collection of more than 200 options. The Model Garden currently provides access to Google's Gemini models, open models such as Mistral, Llama, and Gemma, and Anthropic's Claude AI. Following this partnership, Google says it is now the only large cloud provider offering access to all three leading closed large language models.
OpenAI notes that Microsoft remains its primary cloud partner. However, the full suite of current GPT 6 and 6.1 models, named Astra, Sol, and Luna, will launch on Google Cloud. Astra is expected to be the most expensive model to run. Google's system supports dynamically moving workloads between different large language models based on performance, latency, and efficiency.
