A person died after falling from the Goliath roller coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia on Monday, according to police. The Cobb County Police Department confirmed one fatality and reported that several other individuals were injured in the incident, which occurred just before 4 p.m.

Six Flags acknowledged the event in a statement to Fox News Digital, saying the company was deeply saddened by the guest incident. The spokesperson stated that the company is providing support to affected guests and team members while cooperating fully with local authorities. The park declined to share additional details out of respect for the family's privacy.

Witnesses described a man falling from the ride, with one telling local station WXIA that the individual appeared in their souvenir photo during the fall. The witness reported that the man fell and hit a car three different times. Video from the scene showed passengers climbing out of the ride and descending a staircase high above the ground after the coaster stopped moving. Emergency crews evacuated those stuck on the track.

The Goliath hypercoaster is 200 feet tall and reaches speeds of up to 70 mph, according to the park's website. The ride features a 170-foot initial drop, a secondary 175-foot drop, a 540-degree spiral, and forces reaching up to 4 Gs. Police did not immediately provide further details about the circumstances surrounding the incident, and it was not immediately clear what caused the stoppage or when the ride would reopen.
