Live Nation Entertainment, Inc. is replacing its top legal executive. The company announced on September 25, 2026, that it will hire Da-Wai Hu to serve as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary, a role set to begin on November 2, 2026.
The transition involves a negotiated departure for the current office holder, Michael G. Rowles. On the same day, Live Nation entered into a First Amendment to Rowles' employment agreement, effective November 1, 2026. This amendment extends the term of his existing contract from December 31, 2027, to December 31, 2029.
Under the new terms, Rowles' title will change to Senior Legal Advisor beginning January 1, 2028. His annual base salary will be $500,000 for the duration of the extended term, with no contractual bonus opportunity. If the company terminates his employment without cause, or if he resigns for good reason as defined in the original agreement, he is entitled to a lump sum payment. This payment equals his base salary otherwise payable from the termination date through December 31, 2029, replacing the standard termination provisions of the prior contract.
