A controller, the executive who runs a company's day-to-day accounting before results reach the chief financial officer, moved up to the CFO role at Gold.com, Inc. (NYSE: GOLD) on September 18, 2026. Jill Van took that seat as Cary Dickson retired after two stints as CFO covering more than 11 years. Four days before that, Gold.com's Audit Committee also replaced its outside accounting firm.
Van joined Gold.com in June 2025 as Executive Vice President and Controller. She holds a Certified Public Accountant license and spent more than two decades in public accounting. Her career included Audit Partner positions at RSM US LLP and Grant Thornton LLP, where she led SEC reporting and audit engagements. She also served as CFO at Shew Enterprises and Interim CFO at Hardesty LLC.
Gold.com CEO Greg Roberts said Van had already been a driving force inside the company's finance organization and that her technical depth makes her well suited for the financial reporting and controls work a public company demands. Dickson said he worked closely with Van and came away confident in her judgment. He will stay on as a consultant for 12 months following his retirement. Van, in her own statement, said she intends to build on the financial discipline established in the Controller role to support the company's growth and capital efficiency goals.
Dickson's two stints covered more than 11 years, a stretch he described as including significant transformation and global expansion at the company.
A new outside auditor
The Audit Committee approved KPMG LLP as Gold.com's independent registered public accounting firm for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2027, with the appointment effective September 14, 2026. An independent auditor is the outside firm that examines a public company's financial statements and certifies their accuracy for shareholders. KPMG replaces Grant Thornton LLP.
The Audit Committee ran a review process before selecting KPMG. No financial terms of the engagement were disclosed. Gold.com, founded in 1965 and headquartered in Costa Mesa, California, filed the full details of both appointments with the Securities and Exchange Commission on a Form 8-K.
