Angel Reese declined a public marriage proposal from a social media influencer during a WNBA Finals game between the Atlanta Dream and the Golden State Valkyries. The incident occurred during Game 3, when a content creator named Tiki, who has more than 479,000 followers on TikTok, attended the match wearing a tuxedo and holding a sign that read, "Angel will you marry me?"
As Reese stood at the foul line, Tiki yelled, "Angel, I love you." The proposal referenced the common adage that one misses all of the shots one does not take. However, Reese, who is the 2026 WNBA Defensive Player of the Year and averages nearly one block per game, effectively blocked the advance. She responded to Tiki's video with the comment, "Not in this lifetime, but I have some fine friendsssss."
The Dream were competing in a closely contested series against the Valkyries. The teams had previously split their first two encounters, with Atlanta securing a road win in the initial game. In Game 2, Reese contributed 30 points and 16 rebounds in Atlanta's victory. By Game 4, her performance had dropped significantly; she shot 2-of-12 from the field and finished with eight points and nine rebounds. Golden State defeated Atlanta 67-62 on Saturday to tie the series at two games apiece.
The next contest in the series is scheduled for Monday night in California.
